While the various versions of the Avian were sound aircraft, they were comprehensively outsold by the de Havilland Moth and its descendants. It is a British two-seater sports and touring aircraft of the interwar period. Designed to replace the Avro 504, this sound, robust aircraft was largely overshadowed by the de Havilland DH.60 Moth and its derivatives. Nevertheless, it was built in the USA and Canada, used on every continent, and was responsible for some spectacular raids.
